It seems that paper 3 is probably the hardest of all of the papers. There’s only 18 maths revision questions in the Edexcel GCSE Maths Higher Calculator Paper 3, but other than the first few, they are all fairly difficult. Although, with good maths revision practice, you can do it.

I would image that, once you’ve completed all the other geography, history, English etc, exams you’ll really want to just get the final paper completed and take a break. That’s perfectly understandable but, in the meantime you need to keep trying maths revision – it’ll be over soon :-).
As with all these posts aim for around an hour’s maths revision per video. It’s too early to get the information from my YouTube channel, but I hope that students are spending longer and taking their time to work through each of the questions.
Don’t just watch all the way through!
Revision should be active and, if you’re not sure about anything, please do post a comment or ask your teacher. The maths revision cards in The Ultimate Maths Survival Guide can help to jog your memory although, there’s nothing like working through some similar questions. In fact here’s absolutely the best advice for revising maths revision thoroughly:
- Test yourself by working through similar questions
- Make flashcards to help you retain the information
- Repeat
- Work through similar questions
- Make more flashcards (even on the same topic)
- Repeat
That’s it.
There’s some great resources available through school, a tutoring centre, of course 3minutemaths.co.uk, or some excellent study guides from Amazon. But none of them will help unless you test yourself and make flashcards repeatedly.
It’s not too late to start maths revision now. So, here’s a table of the topics covered in these videos and you can also search 3minute maths, or the YouTube channel, for more examples:
