Here’s a few videos on how to solve a simultaneous quadratic and linear equation, that I hope might be useful. They are becoming a little more popular on GCSE mathematics as you need to demonstrate a clear, logical method. Occasionally you are given an instruction, such as ‘by eliminating ‘y’,’ and I’ve added a few examples on this post.
The main things to remember when you are asked how to solve a simultaneous quadratic and linear equation are:
– Work through each question logically and show a step by step solution
– You need to have a little confidence in factorising and working with fractions
– Check your working each time and try to keep ‘balancing’ the algebra around the equals sign
If you’d like to ask for any more detail, or you’re not sure about anything, please do ask a question in the comments section.
All best with your studies
